It's a cool and rainy Thursday morning.
While it sounds pretty dampening (and even if that's literally the case), I'm pretty sure many of us are in a jolly mood thanks to a local public holiday tomorrow. So yes, yay to May Day (Labour Day)!
Random question but do you like paus or steamed buns? These steamed bread with fillings would never appear on my list of favourite foods but I'm having second thoughts after trying the tau sar pau at Forty Hands. Finding a good tau sar pau at the specialty coffee joint located at Yong Siak Street was unexpected because they serve mainly western food.
It could be the weather but I am missing the fluffy soft bun filled with smooth red bean paste. Will I visit the café for its tau sar pau? Very likely, and in case you are wondering, I didn't try the coffee because I don't drink the beverage.
Alright, I gotta go. Time for a workout to break the fixation on food. Heh.

Charged Up
There's something I love about mornings, and it's probably the fresh morning air!
Nope, I wasn't a morning person when I was much younger. It's regrettable because I missed out on so many wonderful things. The good news - it's never too late! I'm now a changed person. Not that I was a wreck but life is much better when one is able to see goodness and experience simple joys everyday. Yes, every SINGLE day (and I am not seeing anyone although that's not the point).
Anyway, I woke up this morning feeling recharged and literally sprang out of bed. It's strange to feel so enthusiastic about starting a seemingly ordinary day but we don't have to perceive each day as "just another day" for the rest our lives. Being able to rise from bed is a privilege, not an entitlement. One gets that chance to do something more in his or her lifetime for the day. It's really the ability to add meaning during our waking moments that we should be thankful for.
Sure, I can go on and on about that but let's keep the post short and sweet. It's about time for me to start working out!

Half-hearted Commitment
What?! It's been more than a week since my last entry?
Just when I thought I'd be a more dedicated blogger. Oh well, better late than never I guess!
Three weeks into the fitness journey and it hasn't been easy. There were days that I thought my body was going to crumble after some of the sessions at the initial phase. As contradictory as it may sound, I do enjoy the workouts! I tried something new; finally attended a group class (Body Combat, by the way) at the gym even though I have been a member for over a year. It's proven that I'm still able to follow the moves more than half the time so that was not as bad as I envisioned the experience to be. Nobody stared or laughed at my occasional clumsiness and uncoordinated movements. Heh.
The bookworm in me's awaken and I have finished reading two books to date! My current read is The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma.
What else have I been up to? Museum hopping! Well, kind of. I have seen the Da Vinci: Shaping The Future exhibition at ArtScience Museum, In Memoriam: Lee Kuan Yew, Singapura: 700 Years as well as Leading Ladies: Women Making a Difference exhibitions at the National Museum. Oh, I have also visited the Asian Civilisations Museum for the Chinese Zodiac Heads: A Gift from Jackie Chan and Ancient Religions exhibitions. Personally, I feel that museums are able to offer intriguing experiences and these are the places that visitors can gain new knowledge.
The sweet tooth is kept under control so far but no, that didn't kill my appetite for food. On the topic of food, I had a plate of satay bee hoon for lunch at Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon located at Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre. It was delicious! They're pretty generous with their creamy and flavourful satay gravy (that's not too spicy), and I must add that this is one dish yours truly would gladly risk soiling her clothes for. =P~
The thought of food can activate more than just the salivary glands. My stomach is starting to growl. Dinnertime!

Let It Begin
It's funny.
I created this blogger account in 2012, thinking I would start blogging. Obviously, I didn't.
What took me so long? I have no idea. It could be the lack of time from juggling a full-time job, part-time studies and personal life.
Alright, I'll stop finding excuses. So I procrastinated. Well, things are going to change as I am taking a job hiatus. Other than making the necessary monetary sacrifices (by not taking long overseas vacations) during this period, yours truly is going to set some goals, and of course, some things straight.
I need to re-ignite my passion for writing again. That's one.
It will be good if I can tone up my body, and in order to do so, there's a need to lead a healthier lifestyle. Hence, fitness routines must be in order. Besides, my eating habits had been derailed big time especially in the recent months. So reigning my sweet tooth is no longer an option.
Ah, reading! Speaking of which, the bookworm in me has hibernated for the longest time. Setting aside time to gain knowledge, and to keep the mind active isn't just beneficial but also fulfilling.
Trying and learning something new are likely part of the plan. Yada, yada, yada, I can go on and on about this but it's pointless if nothing materialises.
Let's see how things work out from here. A blog post is certainly a good start!
